Dubai Municipality has introduced shared housing regulations across more than 44 approved areas, requiring at least five square metres of bedroom space per occupant. Buildings need permits and must meet safety standards. Existing properties have until September 8, 2027, to comply, aiming to reduce overcrowding and improve residential safety.
